Hearing Granted in Georgia on Forensic Inspection of Fulton County’s Mail-In Ballots

Fulton County Superior Court has granted a hearing for a forensic inspection of Fulton County’s mail-in ballots. Voters Organized for Trusted Election Results in Georgia (VoterGA) relayed the news in an email sent to The Georgia Star News on Thursday. The announcement followed Georgia Senate Judiciary Subcommittee’s motion to request all absentee mail-in ballots from Fulton County on Wednesday. The next day, the subcommittee sent their formal request to the county.

The hearing will take place Monday at 11 a.m. EST. The Senate subcommittee hasn’t filed a petition with the court, but instead has sent a letter to Fulton County officials, requesting a response by noon Thursday. Their request would include all absentee mail-in ballots processed at the State Farm Arena. VoterGA organized voters into plaintiffs a little over a week ago to obtain a court order granting similar relief.

“The notice seeks to visually inspect all mail-in ballots, rescan them for a forensic exam[,] and to obtain electronic copies of the Dominion ballot images and standard election reports,” stated VoterGA in a press release.

However, it appears that Fulton County may not allow the mail-in ballots to be inspected. According to VoterGA, the Fulton County Election Attorney stated that the county’s election officials would deny the request.

CASE

In an interview with The Star News, VoterGA co-founder Garland Favorito stated that he’s optimistic that they will be granted the opportunity to inspect the ballots.

“The fact that the subcommittee put their names on that letter will help us get that inspection that we want,” said Favorito. “Fulton County stated that they would object to it, but I haven’t seen their objection in writing yet. It seems to me that if they don’t file something by today, then the judge will rule in our favor on Monday.”

Favorito added that the turnaround time for their investigation would amount to less than 24 hours.

“By that evening [of the ruling], we will have the ballots scanned and examined. I expect by the next morning that we will have the answer as to how many mail-in ballots, if any, are fraudulent,” stated Favorito. “That’s according to Jovan [Hutton Pulitzer].”

Favorito explained that his continued push for transparency comes from firsthand witness of election irregularities. He asserted that confidence in the election was paramount.

“We saw what we believe were fraudulent ballots, and we have no explanation for them. Hopefully Monday they will allow us to inspect those ballots,” stated Favorito. “We shouldn’t really have had to file a court case for this – if the laws were decent, we should’ve been able to do this without going to court. It should’ve been transparent all along. If we find no fraudulent ballots, we’ll find that Joe Biden won legitimately. The point is, everybody needs to know who won and that the right candidate was selected. And the only way we can do that is to look at the ballots in this case because they’ve been in question.”

Democratic candidate Joe Biden leads President Donald Trump by under 12,000 votes. Favorito stated that he suspects the results of the investigation will conclude that the election results were misleading.

“I think there’s going to be more than the margin of victory,” asserted Favorito.
