Commentary: Our Public Health Bureaucracy Can’t Be Dismantled Quickly Enough

by Scott McKay

Earlier this week, the estimable Robert Stacy McCain delivered a quite spot-on assessment of the terrible science behind the Centers for Disease Control’s guidance on masks, vaccinations, and the Delta variant of COVID-19. That guidance has thrown the entire country into a fresh panic about the virus, so much so that in places like Nevada, Louisiana and Washington, D.C. there are now mask mandates in place even for people vaccinated against the virus.

It seems the CDC had two sources for upsetting the national applecart. According to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, it relied on a study of a vaccine in use in India which apparently was less than effective in warding off the Delta variant — but that vaccine isn’t used in the United States because our authorities weren’t satisfied as to its effectiveness, period.

And as Stacy’s American Spectator piece noted, the other was a study of an outbreak in Provincetown, Massachusetts, a small Cape Cod town where nearly 500 cases arose in a short time, a large number of which came from vaccinated people.

Stacy also noted, as have others, that the Provincetown outbreak was partially the result of something called “Bear Week,” a festival of sorts involving thousands upon thousands of gay men descending on that resort community for recreational pursuits you can’t engage in while making a trip to your local supermarket or even at the health club.

CASE
Stacy talked about crowded bars and so on. This was a bit more “involved” than that, and he’s to be congratulated for his tact and politeness in understating the case.

Because of that, we’re told that vaccination is not enough as a defense against the Delta variant.

Well, OK. But what exactly are we defending against?

You were never allowed to compare the Wuhan virus, when you could even call it the Wuhan virus, with the flu. But the Delta variant more or less is the flu. It is probably less deadly than the main strains of COVID-19, though it does seem to have slightly more effect on younger sufferers than previous COVID surges had.

In other words, while the case counts seem to be mounting, as are the hospitalizations, the rate of death from this thing is not so alarming. And one wonders whether the common standard for illness requiring hospitalization has not fallen off greatly; your author has been given anecdotal evidence from a hospital or two that the people coming in seem to be a lot more convinced that they’re sick than are actually sick, and that could be attributed to an entire year of nonstop media narratives.

This means, to be brutally analytical here, the Delta variant isn’t the worst thing in the world — if anything, it might be a vehicle to finally get us to herd immunity even with a portion of the American public being reticent about taking the vaccine.

Getting this and dealing with it, as you might with a bad cold or a bout with the flu, and then collecting the immunity that you are then due, is a more involved, perhaps more thorough, version of getting the jab.

This would be the kind of guidance one might expect from the CDC — after, of course, they’ve put in the work to avoid panicking the public about the efficacy of the vaccine. We know the vaccines, at least the Moderna and Pfizer versions, are 90-percent-plus effective in warding off COVID-19 in its various forms. Engage in aggressive, biblically-frowned-upon sex with strangers during “Bear Week,” and that statistical effectiveness could wear down a bit.

But the CDC apparently isn’t interested in differentiating people by lifestyle. In our new hyper-stupid parlance, that would constitute bigotry. Or something.

So you’re going to be treated as though you’re on your way to “Bear Week.” Because that’s science. And the same public health bureaucracy which swears up and down that money it dropped from helicopters on the Wuhan Institute of Virology for gain-of-function research was not actually for gain-of-function research and that you’re a conspiracy nut for wondering whether that combination of secrecy and gaslighting isn’t cover for the ultimate forced admission that yeah, this Frankenstein virus does ultimately bear at least a whiff of the U.S. treasury . . . demands that you Follow The Science.

Remember when The Science claimed that attending an Antifa riot was not engaging in spreading the virus?

The Science isn’t scolding Barack Obama for his massive birthday bash on Martha’s Vineyard this coming weekend, at which the ruling-class guests most assuredly won’t be masked up while quaffing Krug Brut Vintage 1985 and snacking on foie gras.

The Science also seems unconcerned with the public health consequences of not just a wide-open southern border but the open transportation of COVID-positive illegals to points all across the country where they might begin re-spreading the virus. Not a single member of our Political Quack class has issued so much as a peep about that.

At the end of the day, what’s obvious is that the CDC is as politicized as the National Institutes of Health. These guys are running a racket designed to keep funding flowing — and to keep high-paying sinecures at Big Pharma warm for when it’s time to cash out into the private sector.

I’ve said before that this is the first disease nobody seems to want to cure. Why do you think that is? Field doctors repeatedly say that old-fashioned antiviral drugs are effective on COVID, yet there is outright resistance even to debating the topic.

Not to mention utter dishonesty about vaccine reticence.

The Biden administration won’t shut up about the knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing MAGA dittoheads who won’t take the vaccine. But it’s blacks and Hispanics who are the most resistant to it, which is proven out statistically.

So if their own voters, or at least demographic groups most likely to favor them, continue to resist taking the vaccine, don’t you think it’s time to start focusing on how to relieve the suffering if the folks get it?

The unvaccinated are filling up the emergency rooms with Delta cases. Maybe if they had Ivermectin or something similar (as in The Drug Which Dare Not Speak Its Name) available, some of that could be mitigated.

Unless you don’t want it mitigated.

Unless you think COVID is the best game in town, that you wouldn’t have political power without it, that the Donald Trumps and Rand Pauls and Jim Jordans have been clued in on the game, and if they come back in style in D.C. it’s curtains for the CDC. And the NIH. And the rest of the Fauciocracy, which has set so many hundreds of billions of dollars on fire in the last several months, not to mention the past few decades.

The secrecy and the gaslighting is obviously masking something. And none of these guys get the benefit of the doubt anymore.

Your Delta panic and the specter of more shutdowns interestingly coincides with the falling apart of the Democrats’ narrative that inflation is just a temporary thing and nothing to worry about. Reducing demand is a way to reduce inflation, you know.

Not to mention the ban on evictions just expired, and you’re about to see some massive housing dislocation resulting.

Unless there’s a fresh emergency that can put a lid on that disaster.

Inconveniences like the Supreme Court’s clear declaration about unconstitutionalities be damned. Justice Roberts has his decision; now let him enforce it. Isn’t that how it goes?

And then there’s the fact that the money is moving decisively toward the GOP in advance of the 2022 elections.

And the fact that people didn’t seem to be operating out of the same level of fear they were a year, or even six months, ago. Why, the proles had become so bold as to tell pollsters negative things about their president and vice-president.

You don’t need to wag the dog when you can mandate the mask. The principle is the same. Crisis plays. Crisis saves.

And when you can define The Science any way you please, when The Science is entirely in service to The Power, you can use it however you want.

Formerly, there were limits. Formerly, corrupting the public health establishment or the scientific community was seen as a grave disgrace likely to produce a Pandora’s Box of ill effects.

But Pandora’s Box has been open for some time now, and what we see is the folks who opened it aren’t uncomfortable with the results at all.

That you might be uncomfortable is of no consequence. That you might be outraged at the decline of societal and governmental norms and standards merely makes you deplorable.

Because they don’t want your consent to be governed. That’s for the chumps to ask for. No, they want to rule you. And your consent, and your insistence on verifiable standards, truth or what used to be science, aren’t required for that.

You might not be interested in Bear Week. But your rulers have a special Bear Week planned for you. They’re showing you that right now.

If people do their research and discover and understand who this woman is and where she came from then everything will come in focus. She was the director for years of the NIH..Clue no 1. She worked on aids/HIV virus for years, clue no 2. AND WHEN YOU ASK WHERE THE TEST IS, AND WHO IS DOING IT FOR THE DELTA VARIANT TO BE MORE CONTAGIOUS, and spreading like wildfire, everything will come into focus even further as well. ANSWER TO ABOVE….FAUXI.. THEY HAVE BEEN TEAM MATES FOR YEARS, HE HAD HER INSTALLED, SHE DOES EVERYTHING HE TELLS HER, Reason, given patents, bonuses, etc.. ANSWER NO 2. THERE IS NO TEST FOR D VARIANT, But there is, but there are only a few labs in the US that do it, and its extremely expensive, and you need a pathologist, an IT person, and a highly trained for years clinician. Things beginning to come into focus alot better, SO NOT ONLY ARE WE UNDER A MEDICAL BUREAUCY, BUT IT IS ACTUALLY A MEDICAL TYRANNY, OF WHICH FAUXI WANTS TO BE IN CHARGE OF, What he needs to be in charge of is the chow line of whatever federal prison he is sent to for INTENTIONAL HOMICIDE.
