Coffee County Election Board testified that there are serious flaws with the state’s electronic voting systems. In a video presented during Georgia House hearing on Thursday, Coffee County Elections Director Misty Martin walked the viewer and other officials through use of the scanning and uploading software, pointing out several key issues that she claimed allowed for voter fraud.
During the video, Martin presented examples of how the voting system could allow elections supervisors to override votes or accept double votes within the electronic adjudication process, as well as scan and electronically vote on blank ballots. Additionally, the video depicted monitors’ inability to watch the adjudication process from the accepted amount of social distancing.
All Georgia counties used Dominion Voting Systems (Dominion) for the general election and post-election recounts.
Last Friday, the Coffee County Election Board submitted a letter to the Georgia Secretary of State’s office about an inability to certify their electronic recount numbers due to an “inability to repeatably [sic] duplicate creditable election results.”
Reportedly attached to the letter was a spreadsheet detailing how the electronic recount lacked credibility, though a copy of that document wasn’t made available publicly.
In response to the letter, the secretary of state’s office stated that they were investigating the county’s recount procedures. Coffee County was the last to complete their recount results.
Martin had reported that their electronic tally was off by 51 votes.
“[T]hough she could not say for certain that she had scanned the same batch of 50 ballots twice, that seemed a likely possibility,” stated the secretary of state’s office. “The Coffee County letter blamed the voting system for the 51-vote discrepancy, but Ms. Martin could not specify what machine problems were encountered.”
Nowhere in the statement did the office address the documentation that the county reported having attached to their letter. According to the secretary of state’s office, they’d informed Martin of her duty to certify the recount immediately.
At the time of press, the secretary of state’s office hasn’t issued any followup statements on Coffee County’s testimony or allegations.
