ATLANTA, Georgia – During a Monday tele-town hall held with former U.S. Senator and candidate for governor David Perdue, former President Donald Trump blasted Gov. Brian Kemp and said that a vote for Brian Kemp is a vote for Stacey Abrams.
Trump shared his belief that Kemp cannot win the Georgia general election for governor.
“A vote for Brian Kemp in this primary is a vote for Stacey Abrams, and I’ll tell you I don’t believe the Republicans are going to go out and vote in the general election for Brian Kemp,” he said.
Trump criticized Kemp by calling him a RINO.
“David is running against Kemp, a truly horrendous RINO,” he said. “If you look at the state and you compare it to other Republican-run states, it’s not doing nearly as well.”
Trump also gave his thoughts on the Rivian deal, which gives fiscal incentives to a George Soros-owned company to build a plant in Georgia.
“I’m not surprised about George Soros getting all of this money from Kemp … nobody could be so stupid to be doing the things they did,” Trump said.
The former president encouraged the town hall attendees to make sure to go out and vote for Perdue.
“Election Day is Tuesday, May 24th. That’s very important. Early voting began [May 2nd]. You can go in right now, you can go and vote. Don’t wait, get there as soon as you can and vote for David Perdue. He’s going to be a great governor,” Trump said.
Additionally, he said, “The election is taking place very shortly and I’ve known David Perdue for a long time. He’s an outstanding guy. And he’s fighting, and fighting like nobody can fight.”
The Georgia Star News previously reported that Perdue himself has had very strong words about Kemp’s deal with the Soros-owned Rivian.
“Brian Kemp just announced his plans to give $1.5 billion of Georgians’ tax dollars to a George Soros-owned woke corporation whose stated purpose is to combat climate change,” he said. “This is the worst deal I have ever seen in my 40 years in business – $200,000 in taxpayer money per potential job. Think about how many small businesses in Georgia could be helped for this kind of money, instead of padding George Soros’ pockets.”
Georgia’s primaries are on May 24.
