Georgia GOP Censures Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger

The Georgia Republican Party passed a motion on Saturday at their state convention to formally censure current Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

“A censure is about as strong as it gets out of here, other than our votes at the ballot box which is the most important censure of all,” added Mike Crane, District 3 Chairman of the state party, before reading the language of the censure.

The move comes as Raffensperger has been heavily criticized by other Republicans for his lack of dedication to confirming election security throughout the state. Further, he has often attacked former President Donald Trump and his supporters.

Former President Trump has also questioned Raffensperger’s job performance, endorsing Congressman Jody Hice (R-GA-10) in his primary attempt against Raffensperger. He said, “Unlike the current Georgia Secretary of State, Jody leads out front with integrity. I have 100% confidence in Jody to fight for Free, Fair, and Secure Elections in Georgia, in line with our beloved U.S. Constitution.”

While the censure resolution only formally condemned Raffensperger, it also went on to criticize Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan and Attorney General Chris Carr.

“The fecklessness and failures of Secretary Raffensperger were enabled by the actions and inactions by others such as Lt. Governor Duncan, who denied that there was election fraud and punished Georgia Republican State Senators who asked for election audits (and) Attorney General Carr, who allowed his office to file an amicus brief opposing the lawsuit asking for inspection of the Fulton County absentee ballots,” the resolution said.

Governor Brian Kemp, who has also faced backlash over his handling of the November 2020 election, was also booed while speaking at the state convention.

Trump has promised to help elect opponents to both Kemp and Raffensperger. He said, “I’ll be here in a year and a half campaigning against your Governor, and your crazy Secretary of State.”

When will Duncan, Kemp, the contractor, Ralston, and this SOS be investigated for the part they played in this election fraud?

I guess we should include the GA AG too.
