Louisiana Department of Health Rescinds COVID Vaccine Mandate for Schoolchildren

Louisiana parents opposed to COVID mRNA shots for their children won a victory as the state’s department of health rescinded its mandate that schoolchildren be injected.

The Louisiana Department of Health repealed its mandate Tuesday, leading Attorney General Jeff Landry (R) to file a motion to dismiss his lawsuit, Crews v. Edwards, against Governor John Bel Edwards (D).

Landry said in a statement:

Today is the culmination of hard work by so many concerned parents throughout Louisiana. This is the direct result of moms, dads, grandparents, and guardians fighting for what is right. I thank Representative Raymond Crews, Health Freedom Louisiana, the Bayou Mama Bears, Town Hall Baton Rouge, Children’s Health Defense, and all those from across Louisiana that stood with us for parental choice.

“Child medical decisions should be made by their guardians, not the government,” Landry said. “I hope this health freedom victory reminds everyone what can happen when we all work together. When citizens are engaged and get involved, their government will listen.”

Landry also scored another major victory over COVID mandates imposed by Joe Biden’s requirements for the federal Head Start Program.

CASE

Judge Terry Doughty of U.S. District Court in the Western District of Louisiana granted the state a permanent injunction against mask mandates for toddlers and COVID shots for staff and volunteers of Head Start programs.

“I thank my fellow attorneys general for joining me in this fight for our states’ families, single mothers, and elderly raising their grandchildren,” Landry said in a statement. “I will not waver in defending our toddlers and teachers from government overreach.”

The ruling, Landry’s office states:

… restrains the United States Department of Health and Human Resources, the Administration for Children and Families, and the Office of Head Start from implementing the Head Start Mandate as set forth in 86 Fed. Reg. 68052 (November 30, 2021) in Louisiana, Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

Robert W. Malone, M.D., M.S., invented the core mRNA vaccine technology platform but opposes how U.S government health agencies have brought the COVID shots to market with both the censoring of early treatment options and unethical government shot mandates.

Malone wrote at his Substack column about his efforts and testimony in support of Landry’s case against Bel Edwards since December 2021.

The vaccinologist said he returned once again in May “to testify in front of a Senate Committee hearing about vaccine mandates for children, in support of HCR 3, which would stop the governor’s mandated COVID vaccination – the only one left in the country.”

“At that time, the bill did pass,” he reported, but noted the governor “continued pushing the mandates through the Louisiana Department of Health.”

Landry’s “huge effort” ultimately won out, however, and the parents and children of Louisiana achieved a “big win,” Malone wrote.

“One step, one state, one nation – medical freedom,” Malone observed. “Medical Freedom is just part of being free. Freedom for all was what this great nation was founded on. Never forget.”
