Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has confirmed he is considering New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura to serve as a running mate for his independent presidential bid.

Kennedy told the New York Times he is considering both to round out the ticket. Rodgers has previously expressed support for Kennedy, but has another year on his contract with the Jets, according to the New York Post.

Ventura, meanwhile, is a former professional wrestler and served as governor of Minnesota from 1999-2003. He won election under the Reform Party ticket and remains the only successful gubernatorial candidate who to run under that banner.

Kennedy’s campaign, meanwhile, initially began as a Democratic primary challenge to President Joe Biden, though he later opted for an independent run, which has seen him claim a substantive portion of public support in many polls.

In a hypothetical race including Biden, Trump, and other additional candidates, Kennedy currently boasts 12.9% support in the RealClearPolitics polling average.

Neither Rodgers nor Ventura appear to have publicly commented on the matter as of press time.
