Trump-Endorsed AG Candidate John Gordon Blasts Opponent, Offers Election Integrity Solutions

Atlanta, GeorgiaThe Georgia Star News spoke with Trump-endorsed candidate John Gordon at the Real Georgia Speaks Team Trump Bus Tour on Monday morning where he had strong words for his opponent, incumbent Attorney General Chris Carr.

“We refer to him as Chris ‘Do Nothing’ Carr,” Gordon said. “He just has not fulfilled the obligations and duties of this office. He’s done nothing on election integrity except deny that there was a problem.”

Gordon told The Star News about what he’s been doing to fight for election integrity. “For the last year I’ve worked on two lawsuits to help shine light on election fraud that occurred in Fulton County and, we suspect, other areas of the state,” he said. “We know that there are thousands and tens of thousands of illegal, fraudulent ballots that were cast. This is America. We cannot allow the sacred vote to be eroded and taken away from Americans, because that is not the fabric of our county. That has to change and change quickly.”

The Star News asked Gordon why it appears that some Republican Party leaders are reticent to work towards ensuring safe and secure elections. He responded, “You have asked me a question that I cannot answer. I wish I could. I put it on a continuum – incompetence on the left side and corruption on the right side. Somewhere in between those two extremes, I believe, lies the answer.”

Gordon additionally discussed what happened to legislation that didn’t pass the Georgia General Assembly this session, and what he thinks needs to be done to secure future elections.

CASE

“There were several bills that did not make it through the legislature, and you have to question why. I can’t figure it out. I mean, one bill proposed that we use special paper for absentee ballots,” said the candidate. “Please help me understand why we shouldn’t use special paper for absentee ballots. We use special paper for the one dollar bill, why can’t we have special paper for a ballot?”

“There was a concept that we would put a hologram on our absentee ballots. We have holograms on our driver’s licenses. Why can’t we have a hologram on an absentee ballot to ensure its integrity?” he said.

Gordon went on to discuss drop boxes. “The notion of drop boxes has got to go. They’ve taken them from outside and moved them inside the polling places. Can somebody please help me please understand why someone who goes to the polling place to cast a ballot can’t go to the machine, rather than drop their ballot in a drop box which we know, we know are instrumentalities for fraud?” he asked. Its just an absurd notion that eliminating drop boxes is voter suppression. All they have to do is turn right as opposed to turning left and they can go vote in the machine like everybody else.”

The Republican primary for Attorney General is scheduled for May 24.
