Welcome to the Thursday edition of our daily Virginia Trump campaign update! We will provide our readers with daily updates on the Trump Virginia campaign from today to November 3 (and after…if need be!).
It’s officially 33 days until the election on November 3 – and 30 days until early voting in Virginia closes. The deadline to register to vote in time for the 2020 election is October 13.
President Trump and former vice president Joe Biden met in the first of three scheduled debates on Tuesday night. It didn’t take long for sparks to fly as the president clashed with the Democrat nominee and even moderator Chris Wallace.
The two candidates tackled the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, health care, the economy, the pandemic, racism in America and climate policy.
But often President Trump couldn’t get in a word in edgewise before being interrupted or challenged by both Wallace and Biden.
“First of all I guess I’m debating you (Chris Wallace) and not him (Joe Biden),” the president said. “But that’s OK I’m not surprised.”
As President Trump and Vice President Biden continued to exchange words, Wallace often seemed helpless in trying to keep the peace and the structure of the debate intact.
But at the end of the night the president continued to make his case to the American people that he needs to be the one to finish what he started, and that Mr. Trump’s achievements and record in almost four years surpasses anything Biden has done in his career in government over 47 years.
The next time Trump and Biden debate will be October 15, then for a final time on October 22. The Commission on Presidential Debates announced Wednesday that they will be considering format changes to the final two meetings after Tuesday night’s first debate.
Vice President Mike Pence and Democrat nominee Kamala Harris will hold their one and only debate on October 7.
In Virginia, the Trump Victory campaign is continuing its mass-mobilization efforts as the campaign takes part in the largest get out the vote effort in American history. Campaign staff, volunteers and Trump supporters are working harder than ever in this final stretch of the election to connect with voters and register new voters.
Also coming up on Friday, the Warren County Republican Party will be holding a Trump supporter rally at the party headquarters in Front Royal. The rally runs from 6-9 p.m. and will feature live musical performances and speeches from, Wendy Gade, Chuck Smith and Bill Wiley. Supporters are encouraged to wear their Trump hats, bring Trump signs and flags, and wear your Trump shirts.
