Welcome to the Tuesday edition of our daily Virginia Trump campaign update! We will provide our readers with daily updates on the Trump Virginia campaign from today to November 3 (and after…if need be!).
It’s officially 21 days until the election on November 3 – and 18 days until early voting in Virginia closes. The deadline to register to vote in time for the 2020 election is TODAY!
The Trump-Pence campaign announced on Monday that President Trump will be speaking at a rally in Greenville, North Carolina this Thursday, October 15 at 1 p.m. The rally will take place at the Greenville Airport (400 Airport Rd. Greenville, NC 27834). Temperature screenings will be in place, masks will be handed out, and attendees will have access to hand sanitizer.
Thursdays rally will mark the fourth consecutive day the president will be on the campaign trail. President Trump returned to doing in-person events after his COVID-19 quarantine concluded over the weekend.
The campaign also hosted a teleconference on Monday, with Trump 2020 Campaign Manager Bill Stepien, Deputy Campaign Manager Justin Clark, Senior Advisor Jason Miller, and Senior Advisor Corey Lewandowski. They provided an update on the president’s campaign schedule for the next few days, along with the latest involving the campaign as a whole with three weeks until Election Day.
Corey Lewandowski used the time to talk about the polling for the race between President Trump and Joe Biden. He noted that the polling being pushed by the mainstream media is the same as the polling put out in 2016 when President Trump ran against Hillary Clinton.
“Most members of the media had the polling data wrong in 2016,” Lewandowski said. “So it’s important to understand where we are today.”
Lewandowski said like in 2016, the polling today is showing Joe Biden winning over 50 percent of the vote. Some polls in key battleground states the president won showed Hillary Clinton winning at least 51 percent of the vote.
But Lewandowski said that it’s important to understand that often the pollsters are skewing the results.
“58 percent of all polls failed to meet the basic media standard of transparency,” he said. “They aren’t showing their partisan make up. So you definitely have to call into question the methodology of a lot of these polls.”
“Our internal numbers, we are very confident where our numbers are,” he added. “It’s telling a different story. We have a distinct path to 270 electoral votes.”
