Welcome to the Friday edition of our daily Virginia Trump campaign update! We will provide our readers with daily updates on the Trump Virginia campaign from today to November 3 (and after…if need be!).
It’s officially 18 days until the election on November 3 – and 15 days until early voting in Virginia closes. President Trump meets Joe Biden in the final presidential debate six days from today.
Trump had an incredibly busy Thursday. Part of it was spent in Greenville, North Carolina, where the president addressed around 15,000 supporters at the Pitt-Greenville Airport.
Air Force One touched down to the delight of those in attendance. North Carolina has become one of the key states the Trump-Pence campaign has targeted, knowing that turning the Tar Heel state red would be crucial in the president’s re-election.
Trump touted the accomplishments of his administration in the first term, the recovery of the economy amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett and of course attacking Democrat nominees Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
From there the president touched down in Miami, where he sat down with Savannah Guthrie, host of Today on NBC, in a town hall-style event. As mentioned, Guthrie pressed President Trump on issues like disavowing white supremacy and Qanon, health care and the pandemic, while voters also had opportunities to ask Mr. Trump questions. Some of the voters were referred to as Democrat voters, Republican voters, others undecided or independent.
Trump will be speaking at rallies in Florida and Georgia today, and will then be in Wisconsin and Nevada over the weekend.
