Welcome to the Saturday edition of our daily Virginia Trump campaign update! We will provide our readers with daily updates on the Trump Virginia campaign from today to November 3 (and after…if need be!).
It’s officially 17 days until the election on November 3 – and 14 days until early voting in Virginia closes. President Trump meets Joe Biden in the final presidential debate five days from today.
The Trump campaign announced he will be returning to speak at a rally in North Carolina on October 21. The event will take place at the Gastonia Municipal Airport in Gaston, North Carolina just outside of Charlotte. As reported in The Virginia Star on Friday, Trump was just in North Carolina this week, addressing some 15,000 supporters in Greenville. The dedication to hitting North Carolina hard with almost two weeks to go until the polls close shows that the campaign is in it to win it in the Tar Heel state.
The president spent the day Friday in Florida addressing crowds at two rallies. He will be in Nevada and Wisconsin over the weekend as he continues to tour battleground states, encouraging people to go out and vote for him to be re-elected.
Trump will also speak at a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania on October 20. Pennsylvania being another battleground state the president will need to carry in order to be re-elected.
In Virginia, results of another skewed poll show Democrat nominee Joe Biden with a five point lead (53-48). The Reconnect Research/Roanoke College poll noted that five percent of the voters remain undecided, with four percent saying they intend to vote for Libertarian nominee Jo Jorgensen. The poll interviewed 602 likely voters. The political party affiliation of those 602 likely voters was not mentioned or disclosed.
The poll also indicated that 71 percent of the respondents think the country is on the wrong track, and that Trump has a 41 percent approval rating.
The Trump Team Virginia campaign remains confident that the Commonwealth is in play. With the voter registration deadline behind us, the final push becomes getting people to the polls, voting for Trump and voting for Republican candidates up and down the ballot. The only way the president gets re-elected is if people turn out to the polls and vote. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris want to radically transform America if they get into the White House. So it’s important to vote and send the message that you want Trump and Vice President Mike Pence to continue restoring the country back to where it was.
