U.S. Senate Candidate Herschel Walker Hauls in $3.7 Million Since Launching Campaign

U.S. Senate candidate and former NFL running back Herschel Walker raised $3.7 million in the first five weeks of his campaign.

Walker, who immediately gained an endorsement from former President Donald Trump, is running in a contentious GOP primary with the goal of challenging Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA).

“Though we only had 5 weeks to fundraise this quarter, tens of thousands of Georgians and patriots across the country stepped up to the plate to help us take back the United States Senate,” Walker said in a statement. “We are grateful for each and every cent and look forward to continuing to travel across this great state shaking hands with real Georgians and hearing about the issues facing their communities.”

Walker’s impressive fundraising haul, which came from approximately 50,000 individual donors, dramatically outpaces his challengers and rivals Sen. Warnock’s vast fundraising efforts.

The former University of Georgia running back has enjoyed widespread support in the primary. After Trump’s endorsement, Representative Buddy Carter (R-GA-01) endorsed Walker.

“Herschel Walker supports the America First agenda and has my complete endorsement,” Carter said in an emailed statement to The Georgia Star News.

Recently, Trump traveled to Georgia to hold a rally, where he boosted Walker to a crowd of thousands of supporters.

However, Walker’s impressive numbers are not only in fundraising. A recent poll by the Trafalgar Group showed Walker with a wide lead in the GOP primary.

According to the survey, Walker held 75.7 percent of the vote in the Republican primary. Walker’s closest competitor in the race, Georgia’s Commissioner of Agriculture Gary Black, only received 6.3 percent of the vote.

Furthermore, an additional poll, conducted by Creative Destruction (CD) Media, gave Walker a lead against incumbent Senator Warnock by five points in a new poll, roughly 46 percent to 41 percent.

Any Republicans not named Walker should withdraw from this race, and pool their resources with Walker! We’re gonna need all hands on deck to fight off anti-American, Leftist Warnock, once ZuckerBucks, and Soros money starts pouring in!
