On Monday, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) claimed that a new whistleblower from the FBI told him that the bureau is “cooking the books” when it comes to cases related to the peaceful protests of January 6th, deliberately miscategorizing them so they can add to an apparent increase in “domestic extremism” cases.
As reported by Fox News, Jordan made his claims on Tucker Carlson’s show “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” detailing what he wrote in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray regarding these latest whistleblower allegations. Jordan said that the FBI, most likely under political pressure from Joe Biden to match his false claims of rising “extremism” due to pro-Trump Republicans, nationalists, and populists, has been producing “false and misleading” cases of so-called “extremism” to make the nonexistent threat seem real.
“The manipulative case file practice creates false and misleading crime statistics,” Jordan’s letter reads, in part. “Instead of hundreds of investigations stemming from a single black swan incident at the Capitol on Jan. 6, the FBI and DOJ officials point to significant increases in domestic terrorism around the United States.”
The letter goes on to claim that, according to the whistleblower, the FBI no longer considers cases of child sexual abuse to be a priority, and has shifted its focus in favor of pursuing so-called “domestic extremism.” The whistleblower says that they were told to refer any future child sex abuse cases to local authorities instead.
“The way I view it, they are juicing the numbers and cooking the books,” Jordan said to Carlson. “They are so focussed on this they are willing to pull agency from child trafficking cases to foster this narrative that Joe Biden in front of Independence Hall with the red background, clenched fist talking about half of the country being extremists.”
Jordan was referencing Biden’s widely-panned speech in Philadelphia, in front of the iconic Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence was signed. In his speech, which featured dark, ominous lighting and two silhouetted Marines standing at attention behind him, Biden declared that President Donald Trump and his followers, which Biden labeled “MAGA Republicans,” represent a “clear and present danger” and “a threat to our democracy.” Biden made numerous false claims, including the suggestion that pro-Trump Republicans tried to steal the 2020 election and will subsequently try to steal the elections in 2022 and 2024.
Biden first launched his 2020 presidential campaign by referring to the Charlottesville protests, claiming that the incident represented a crisis for America’s soul and that the violence there – which was actually caused by far-left rioters – was what inspired him to run for president in the first place. Since then, Biden has repeatedly doubled down on false claims asserting that there is a rise in “White supremacist” violence, and he has used federal law enforcement to crack down on his political opponents with unprecedented mass raids and arrests, claiming that all of his targets are part of this rising trend of “extremism.”
