Tucker Carlson Interviews Texas AG Ken Paxton After Impeachment Acquittal

In episode 25 of his newest production, “Tucker on X,” Tucker Carlson sat down with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who was acquitted by the Texas Senate last week on all 16 articles of impeachment filed against him.

During the 46-minute interview, Carlson called Paxton the “biggest legal opponent” of the current administration, noting that Paxton’s office has filed 48 lawsuits against the Biden administration.

Paxton confirmed this and added that because his office was causing “a lot of trouble for the Biden administration,” he said he believes the White House instigated the effort to remove him from office.

Carlson then pivoted to asking Paxton what happened after he was impeached, to which the attorney general revealed he did not know of three months worth of closed-door investigations into him leading up to his impeachment, which happened over Memorial Day weekend.

Paxton went on to criticize the current law, which allows an elected official to be impeached and suspended from duties pending the outcome of a trial in the Texas State Senate.

“They should have to prove something before the will of the voters is overridden,” Paxton said.

Paxton noted that since he was suspended from office for nearly four months, he’s spent half of the time of his elected term “not being able to do what the people of Texas elected me to do.”

“I have to now figure out what’s going on in my own office, and a lot of people have left…They created a lot of harm to the State of Texas by doing it this way,” Paxton said.

As of press time, the latest installment of Carlson’s video podcast, posted at 8:13 p.m. Central Standard Time on Wednesday, had over 450,000 views. The 25 episodes posted by @TuckerCarlson have been seen over 1.65 billion times on Twitter / X.
