Wisconsin House Speaker Robin Vos Calls for Cyber Forensic Audit

Wisconsin House Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) on Wednesday called for the state to conduct a full forensic cyber audit on the state’s 2020 election results.

In the statement, Vos committed to hiring “independent contractors” to assist lawmakers in the complete examination.

“Assembly Republicans have been working with Justice Gableman to conduct a swift, complete and thorough investigation. Part of our discussion has been focused on hiring independent contractors to enhance our efforts. We believe a cyber-forensic audit is necessary to ensure issues did not happen in 2020. We have allocated additional resources to Justice Gableman to ensure this investigation gets to the truth,” Vos said.

Additionally, Vos tweeted on Monday that he supported a full “top-to-bottom” investigation by Justice Gableman.

“It was an honor to be invited to travel by private plane with Pres. Trump to attend his rally in Alabama. I provided him details about our robust efforts to restore full integrity & trust in elections, including our top-to-bottom investigation by Justice Michael Gableman,” Speaker Vos said, after attending President Trump’s rally in Alabama.

As Vos has been hesitant to embrace the move, the call for a full audit in the state has been led by Wisconsin State Representative Janel Brandtjen (R-Menomonee Falls) and supported by former President Trump.

Previously, Brandtjen, the chair of the Assembly Committee of Campaigns and Elections, issued subpoenas for a host of election materials, including all ballots and voting machines in two Wisconsin counties.

“The people of Wisconsin are lucky to have a strong and great leader like Representative Janel Brandtjen, who issued subpoenas for Brown (Green Bay) and Milwaukee Counties, and all of their election evidence and so-called results,” Trump said of the move by the state lawmaker.
