Survey: 80 Percent of Americans Believe U.S. Has Two-Tiered Justice System

A new poll by a highly respected and accurate pollster indicates that nearly 80 percent of Americans believe there is a two-tiered system of justice in the United States.

According to The Daily Wire, the poll, formally titled the “National Issues Survey,” was conducted by the Trafalgar Group, one of the few pollsters to accurately predict President Donald Trump’s victory in 2016. Featuring over 1,000 likely voters and carried out between July 24th and July 28th, the survey asked the question “What is your opinion of the current state of the American justice system?”

In response, 79.3 percent of Americans said that “[t]here are two tiers of justice in the American justice system: one set of laws for politicians and Washington D.C. insiders vs. one set of laws for everyday Americans.” Only 11.6 percent said that “there is one system of justice with laws applied to all Americans equally.” The remaining 9.1 percent of respondents were unsure of their answers.

Along party lines, overwhelming majorities of every political affiliation agreed with the “two-tiered” sentiment: 66.7 percent of Democrats believe the justice system is corrupt, with only 17.5 percent saying that there is one justice system for everyone. Among Republicans, 87.8 percent said the justice system in America is two-tiered, with just 6.9 percent disagreeing. And 77.2 percent of independents agreed with the notion of a two-tiered justice system, against 13.8 percent who think it is fair and equal for all.

CASE

“What we’re seeing reflected strongly in these numbers is the sentiment that ‘There is no equal justice in America’ has become an almost universally-held opinion,” said Mark Meckler, the President of the Convention of States, in response to the survey’s findings. “But it’s not just opinion, it’s fact. And it’s a dangerous fact in our Constitutional Republic, one which requires mostly voluntary compliance with the rule of law to succeed.”

Notably, the survey was conducted before the unprecedented raid on President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida by Joe Biden’s FBI, in response to unproven claims that President Trump was hiding classified presidential documents. The raid, which has been widely condemned as political weaponization of law enforcement agencies, has led to many calls for reforming or even outright abolishing several corrupt agencies, including the FBI and the CIA.
