Jody Hice Postpones Election Integrity Tour Around Georgia Due to COVID-19

U.S. Representative Jody Hice (R-GA-10), running to replace Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger next year, has announced he will have to postpone a previously announced Election Integrity Tour.

Hice originally scheduled the tour for this week.

“We appreciate the support and overwhelming positivity surrounding our Election Integrity Tour. Due to COVID, we have had several local venues change their meeting policies as well as many community members and Team Hice volunteers express concern they would be unable to attend,” Hice said in an email to supporters.

“I believe in being a good steward of campaign resources, and thus have decided to postpone our tour until Spring. This was not an easy decision. Securing our elections is still of the utmost importance, and I look forward to having authentic conversations with you face-to-face in the future. We will let you know as soon as the new dates are selected and we hope you will join us.”

Hice announced earlier this month that he would visit every region in Georgia to share his plans to secure elections, aggressively pursue voter fraud, and restore confidence that officials count each vote accurately.

Hice had originally scheduled events in Chatham, Glynn, Lowndes, Dougherty, Paulding, Whitfield, Gwinnett, Clarke, Richmond, Fayette, Muscogee, and Bibb counties.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump, in a written statement in March, endorsed Hice’s candidacy.

“One of our most outstanding Congressmen, Jody Hice, has announced he is running for secretary of state in the great state of Georgia. Jody has been a steadfast fighter for conservative Georgia values and is a staunch ally of the America First agenda. Unlike the current Georgia secretary of state, Jody leads out front with integrity,” Trump wrote at the time.

“I have 100 percent confidence in Jody to fight for free, fair, and secure elections in Georgia, in line with our beloved U.S. Constitution. Jody will stop the fraud and get honesty into our elections! Jody loves the people of Georgia, and he has my complete and total endorsement.”

Hice, in a statement on his campaign’s website at the time, said “free and fair elections are the foundation of our country.”
