Catholic League: Secularists Are ‘Doubting the Resurrection But Not Pregnant Men’

Reflecting on the meaning of Easter, the president of the nation’s largest Catholic civil rights organization, questioned how secularists can possibly doubt the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, “but not pregnant men.”

While faith is central to all religions, the Catholic League’s Bill Donohue observed “it is not on faith alone that the account of Jesus’ resurrection is persuasive.”

Donohue noted the idea that early Christians “invented the resurrection as a myth” is unlikely since the idea of “dying and coming back to life” was not embedded in Jewish theological beliefs and would have seemed “bizarre” to the Jews of Jesus’ time.

He added the notion that the Jews, the Romans, or Jesus’ disciples stole his body from the tomb lacks credibility.

“[W]hy would Jews or Romans want to steal the body—wouldn’t that keep the story alive?” he asked.

“It is even more unbelievable to maintain that the disciples stole the body,” Donohue observed. “That would make them masochists. After all, why would they want to endure being beaten and killed for the sake of a lie?”

Of course, there are New Testament accounts of Jesus’ appearance to his disciples following his death and resurrection, Donohue pointed out:

Now some secularists will say that they don’t believe in the historical Jesus. Fine. So why do they believe in the writings of the ancients, those like Aristotle, who came before Christ? Lest we forget, it was the monks who preserved the writings of antiquity, and it was St. Patrick who played a pivotal role in this historic exercise. Looks like secularists can’t escape relying on our bounty.

Next, Donohue examined the secularists’ own “convictions.”

In many “elite circles,” including “the White House and the nation’s leading colleges and universities,” he explained, it is “now fashionable” to “believe that two men can marry and have a family.”

“But men don’t have the anatomical equipment to pull this off, which is why they crib from the largess of heterosexuals,” he observed. “It is also popular to say that male and female status is ‘assigned’ at birth, and that it can be changed. This, too, is nonsense.”

The lengths some LGBTQ activists – who apparently have also been hired to educate some of the nation’s youngest children – will go to in order to explain their “beliefs” is frequently on display at the Twitter account known as Libs of Tik Tok.

In the tweet below, reported at The Blaze, a first grade teacher at Brooke Charter School in Roslindale, Massachusetts, said, as part of her “Identity Share,” she is sharing “something cool” during a “Zoom call with K-2 children.”

“When babies are born the doctor looks at them and they make a guess on whether the baby is a boy or girl, based on what they look like,” Ray Skyer instructed the young children. “And, most of the time, that guess is 100 percent correct, there are no issues whatsoever. But, sometimes, the doctor is wrong, the doctor makes an incorrect guess.”

“When the doctor makes a correct guess, that’s when a person is called ‘cisgender,’” Skyer continued to explain the belief. “When a doctor’s guess is wrong, that’s when they are transgender.”

“I’m a man, but when I was a baby, the doctors told my parents I was a girl,” she added. “And so, my parents gave me a name that girls typically have and bought me clothes that girls typically wear, and until I was 18 years old, everyone thought I was a girl. And this was super, super uncomfortable for me because I knew that wasn’t right.”

“No one ‘assigns’ a person’s sex,” Donohue asserted. “Hospital personnel typically record the sex of the person (which was knowable prior to birth).”

“Moreover, every person who has ever lived possesses either XX chromosomes or XY chromosomes, making them either female or male, respectively,” he stated, noting:

Secular elites believe—Joe Biden is one of them—that men can become pregnant. That is why they refer to pregnant women as “birthing persons,” so as to be inclusive. But everyone lucky enough not to have had his mind corrupted by delusional professors knows that it is always women who carry babies, deliver them and wean them.

“Furthermore, men can no more menstruate—no need to have tampon dispensers in their bathrooms, even at Ivy League schools—than women can undergo radiation for prostate cancer,” he said.

Donohue noted some secularists, like Princeton’s Peter Singer, believe apes should have the same rights as humans, while others, such as the late Christopher Stone of the University of Southern California, suggest trees, rivers, swamps, and plants, etc., should enjoy legal rights.

“Sorry secularists, you’re in over your skis,” the Catholic League president responded. “Don’t expect us to believe that the resurrection of Jesus is not believable but your fairy tales about pregnant men and tree rights are.”
