Georgia Senate nominee for the Republican Party Herschel Walker released several statements on Thursday criticizing his opponent, incumbent Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock (D), on law enforcement support, crime rates, and his history of support for Joe Biden in the days leading up to Friday’s press conference with U.S. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.
“Raphael Warnock has consistently worked to support criminals instead of keeping our communities safe,” spokeswoman Mallory Blount said. “Crime is rising across the country and Georgia is no exception. Atlanta has one of the highest crime rates in the country and Georgians are sick and tired of it. Warnock has done more for Joe Biden than law-abiding Georgians and it is time Georgia had a senator who takes public safety seriously.”
Friday’s press conference on law enforcement with former Speaker of the House and GA-06 representative Newt Gingrich (R), will take place at Alpharetta City Hall at 2 Park Plaza. Walker’s team has requested that the media be set up by 9:45 a.m. for the 10:00 a.m. start.
“They will cover the national border crisis and public safety issues across the state and country,” Walker’s team said on Thursday.
State Senator Brandon Beach (R-Alpharetta) and National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd will also speak at the press conference.
Walker reiterated Warnock’s record of voting in lockstep with President Biden.
“When Raphael Warnock votes with Joe Biden, he’s not with Georgia,” Walker said. “So far, Warnock and his allies have spent millions attacking me, my businesses, and my work with our veterans.
Walker stated he can take any mudslinging that comes his way from Warnock.
“I can take the hits, but that doesn’t change the fact that when it matters most, Raphael Warnock will always put Joe Biden ahead of Georgians. A vote for Warnock is a vote for Joe Biden, more inflation, more crime, and more uncertainty,” he said.
“Come November, Georgians will hold Raphael Warnock accountable,” he added.
Walker also recently spoke at Lake Lanier and in Savannah to express support for law enforcement.
“[I] spoke to the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police in Savannah before visiting the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office to thank our law enforcement heroes for their work to keep us safe,” Walker said on Twitter.
In addition to his expressed support for law enforcement, the Trump endorsee also celebrated Agriculture Week with State Senator Tyler Harper (R-Ocilla), who is the Republican Party nominee for Georgia commissioner of agriculture.
“Kicking off Agriculture week in Ocilla at BadAsh motors with my friend Tyler Harper. Raphael Warnock went to Washington and left Georgia farmers behind. We will always fight for our great farmers and agriculture workers!” Walker tweeted regarding the July 19th event.
